About

Matt Pace is an all-around music man: composer, songwriter, trumpet player, orchestrator, sequencer, and producer. He brings over ten years of writing experience and over fifteen years of performing experience to each project he tackles.

Matt studied jazz at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he had the privilege of studying with trumpet legend Bobby Shew, and had opportunities to play with The Manhattan Transfer, Forbidden Broadway, Don Menza, and Chris Potter. While there, he arranged jazz and ska music, and also composed orchestral music of his own.

Matt continued his studies at Brigham Young University with emphasis in commercial music. There he developed a love for songwriting and film scoring. He scored several student films, both on his own and in collaboration with other students. He also played the trumpet with the BYU Wind Symphony and the BYU Young Ambassadors Show Band. After graduating, he worked as a producer for Aztec Showtrax, and composed and arranged music for the Salt Lake Pops Orchestra.

Matt continues composing and producing music for media, playing with his band PACE, and writing for musical theatre.

Matt works out of his studio in Provo, Utah where he lives with his wife, Joanna.
